New Years Day Dive 01-01-14

8 plucky CSAC divers kicked off 2014 with a nice blue water dive at Wraysbury lake!

Wraysbury dive lake opened at 11am for the  ritual New Years dive for the hardy ( foolhardy maybe) out there. Every year they open slightly later and provide chocs/mince pies apres dive…

This time last year it was snowing and hence the place was empty but this year it was pact with only parking available to the righthand side at 11.15!

8 CSAC members,  Ken, Stuart, Arnaud, John, David, Ian and Carol were present for a dive ( Ken and Stuart had 2!).

Water temperature was 5 degrees C and air temperature was 11C. The vis was pretty good, Miles and I  did a loop of the lake starting from the car park entrance slipway,  going North and then looping round across the top of the lake to the main exit slip.  Initially vis was 5-6m laterally whilst on some of the wrecks at 8-9m you could see the shot all the way to the surface, pretty darn good really. It rained pretty heavily throughout the day but the heating was on in the club house and the bacon butties/hot drinks were flowing so it was no big deal.

Really nice to see so many folks diving and chatting afterwards.
