Club Dunk – Wraysbury – March 2012

CSAC divers took to the water in their droves over the last two weekends in March overcome by the lure of the limpid lagoon (a.k.a. Wraysbury Dive Centre).  Divers got their kit on and jumped back in the water for a shake down dive to get ready for the new season!

Some divers briefly abandoned their mothers on Sunday 18 March (Mother’s Day) and others participated in the second wave on Saturday 24 March.

On 18 March, Mick and Sue, Paul and Dominic, David and Natalie first took the plunge.  Dominic and Natalie were both making their first open water dives as part of their Ocean Diver training: well done!

On 24 March, there was “costa del sol” weather with a lovely sunny day.  The dive centre was packed.  The water was a “balmy” 8 degrees C with great vis and sightings of pike and crayfish galore – despite many divers at the centre.  The day’s longest recorded dive time was 53 minutes (John O and Chris).  Divers were Geoff and Len, Adele and Paul, Chris (R) and John O, Chris (M) and Clive and David and Will (first open water dive in the Ocean Diver training).  Well done Will!

Next club dive is 31 March diving near the Isle of Wight. See us too at the LIDS 2012 dive show on the BSAC club section.
